Alopecia a better way forward
Early in 2014 my hairdresser noticed that I had several patches of hair loss and although I am not young, hair loss was something of a shock to me.
I went to see my general practitioner (GP) and confess I felt quite anxious. My GP explained that there was very little that could be done. He arranged a few blood tests to be carried out which were perfectly normal and then he subsequently referred me on to a consultant dermatologist.
I saw the consultant dermatologist quite quickly and she did little to raise my spirits. Like my doctor she explained little could be done, options were to leave the bald patches as they were or try a spray treatment called Regaine, which is not on prescription and would cost £25 per month to use. The dermatologist also explained the condition could get worse or even recur in the future.
I did feel quite low following this consultation and felt I had nowhere to turn. I was very concerned about the spray the dermatologist prescribed. The data stated that it should not be used if you are over 65 years old (which I was) or if you have high blood pressure (I have hypertension) and you could not expose your hair to the sun (I love going on holiday with my husband). The data also explained if you stop using the spray you will most likely lose the hair again and therefore would have to use it for the rest of your life. I was very confused at this point. I was over 65 years old, I have high blood pressure and I do enjoy holidays in the sun. I decided not to use this spray.
My mood was quite low at this point and felt that I was alone with this condition. Then a friend explained to me she had a similar experience and advised me to go to the Hove Hair Clinic.
From my first meeting at Hove Hair Clinic I felt my worries drop away. They spent a long time reassuring me that he treats this type of hair loss successfully every day. Their explanations, kindness and warmth lifted my mood and gave me confidence. I felt I could fully trust them with my problem of hair loss.
It is now December 2014 and I am some months on from my first visit to the Hove Hair Clinic. My hair has come back as has my confidence. I cannot thank the staff of this clinic enough and would highly recommend the clinic to anyone with hair loss.

Following several operations and 8 weeks in hospital I discovered I was losing my hair. I was extremely upset after all I had been through, but was determined to find someone who could help. I looked on google and up came Hove Hair Clinic who I rang and booked an appointment. They was very caring and understanding and assured me that they had seen lots of people in my situation and that with treatment at the clinic and following a strict routine at home that I would get my hair back. After six weeks it had stopped shedding which was a great start and also tiny new shoots of hair were coming through. I have now completed 12 weeks and feel a different person. I had a problem with Alopecia Areata since 2003. I went to see many Doctors about it but nothing they had suggested had worked.
Fortunately last May I found Hove Hair Clinic. From the very beginning they made me feel confident that they could help. At the consultation I was asked a lot of questions and I was impressed that they took so many photos of my condition which I had never had at any appointment with other practitioners, so it was at least a 1000 more points to them at this stage!
I decided to attend the appointments that they recommended and after a few months I began to see the results. I kept attending until I was that I would be OK to continue at home using the products.
I wanted to share my review because I truly recommend this clinic. They make you feel very welcome and have a passion for what they do. I am really happy with how they helped and feel lucky to have found them.

On reflection I wish I had gone to Hove Hair Clinic much sooner. My hair had been shedding for quite a long time and I think that it was a combination of stress and the menopause. I thought it would just start growing back on it's own accord and I continued to try various shampoos and treatments in the hope that they would work.
I think I finally realised how bad it was when I went on holiday to Spain and my scalp got burnt in the hot sun. I knew that I needed to do something about this but I was quite wary and did not know where to go but upon reading the positive reviews and the fact that Hove Hair Clinic was so well established I decided to give it a try.
Sarah was very positive and said that she was sure that treatment would make my hair grow back again. I knew that it would not be a quick fix and I have stuck with my treatments. My hair is slowly starting to grow back and after 8 months, I am really starting to see the difference now. I am not there yet but know that by sticking with the programme there is every chance that my hair loss will be a thing of the past!

I came to Hove Hair Clinic following a recommendation from a friend. My hair had been shedding and was beginning to visibly look thinner, particularly around the front hairline and sides. This was making me feel very stressed and down and I was constantly thinking and worrying about my hair all the time. I was seen and diagnosed with Telogen Effluvium, which can be onset by a stressful event or accumulative stress over a period o time. I was given a regime to follow including, shampoo and conditioner, scalp stimulator and enzyme tablets. I left the clinic feeling so much happier, firstly by having had a confirmed diagnosis but also feeling that I now had some control over my situation. After about 5 weeks of following the regime daily, I could see new growth coming through which was amazing. Nearly a year on my hair looks thicker and healthier.

After a few months of visiting the clinic the first time, my 6 year old daughter developed a fungal scalp infection which was not treated with the right medication by our GP. Consequently the infection got worse and she ended up with a bald spot on the top of her head about the size of a 10 pence. This was devastating, not knowing whether this might be permanent (as was a distinct possibility as advised by a Pediatrician). After having the infection dealt with by a dermatologist I immediately brought my daughter to the Hove Hair Clinic. Again, we were given a regime to follow, including shampoo and conditioner appropriate for my daughter's scalp and hair. After 6 weeks of following the regime my daughter had new growth and this was such a relief, more so than for myself. Her hair may have grown back on it's own eventually but I'm convinced that it came back quicker as a result of the regime we followed.

Both Sarah and Tracey are very friendly and supportive which is so important at a time when you are feeling very worried and stressed. I would recommend anyone concerned about hair loss to give the Hove Hair Clinic a try. I personally cannot thank them enough.

I’ve been using complete lash for a good 8 months now .. I started using as I’d been wearing individual eyelashes for years and my eyelashes were shot .. I was told about this by a friend who had been using and her eyelashes were so long and fluffy I thought I’d give it a go .. if I’m honest it probably took 8 weeks to really see a massive difference , but I wouldn’t look back and now I’ll never have to wear false eyelashes again , it’s nice having natural lashes that people still think are fake .. this product is worth every single penny.

My treatment at Eucaderm (now Hove) Hair clinic has been a total success. When I first went for treatment I was at a very low ebb. My hair had fallen out to such an extent that you could see my scalp. I was diagnosed by the clinic as having a form of cradle cap which usually occurs in babies. After intense treatment 3 times a week it has totally cleared and I now only attend once a month. I had been to my GP who could not help at all. I believe that without the treatment and products I would have gone bald. I can not thank the clinic enough for their wonderful treatment.

I had been suffering with a flaky scalp for years which got worse and worse and I eventually noticed that my hair was falling out in the shower and coming out when I brushed my hair. I noticed thin patches at the front of my scalp and my scalp became red and raw in some places, it also stung with shampoo or water in thr shower. I found Sarah at Eucaderm (now Hove Hair Clinic) online and knew I needed to get help. Sarah was lovely and understanding when I explained my problems. She understood how distressing it was for me and reassured me that my condition was treatable despite me being worried about having these symptoms forever. I was put on a programme for TN25 capsules and shampoo and conditioner No3. I was astonished to see the results after 2 weeks! and to think I had this problem for years. I also had some in clinic treatment with Sarah which cleared things up dramatically. After 3 weeks, my hair was growing back and was shiny and healthy. I am so pleased with the attentive and individual care I received at Eucaderm and the results have been great. Contacting the clinic was the best thing I could have done.

I found Eucaderm (now Hove Hair Clinic) Hove 6 months ago After googling 'hair loss, thin hair, broken hair, alopecia and trichologists. I have had very fine 'baby hair' but coming into my 60's it became thinner, patchier, in poor condition & broken at the back of my scalp. By April 2009 my hair had thinned. I was told by the doctor it was my age! It continued to decline and during our holiday in August I lost a noticeable amount of hair daily in the shower, had a dry flaky scalp and dry scaly patches. The doctor proscribed a steroid application which relieved the scale but also more hair. I was told i would be referred to dermatology at the hospital but there was a 12 week wait.
At this news I was in a terrible state. I felt a mess, did not want to go out and the worst thing was work, which I dreaded. I'd seen adverts for Eucaderm and it was now that I contacted them. I am so glad I did. I immediately started treatment. Someone actually understood how I felt and was sympathetic to me.
My hair gradually improved with the treatments going from weekly to 2 weekly and I used products daily at home. By Easter my hair had thickened up all over, is shiny and in really good condition. Has anyone ever seen a shampoo whose ingredients don't cover the entire label? Thought not. This shampoo only has about 10 ingredients, and is incredibly mild and very effective in clearing the scalp of dandruff. This shampoo is great. Aswell as clearing my mild dandruff it leaves my hairs soft and shiny, better than any other I've tried.

I contacted Sarah at Eucaderm when I experienced very heavy shedding during treatment for hyperthyroidism. I came for a consultation feeling very anxious and down and not knowing when the shedding was going to end - already I could see visible loss around the front of my hair and it was definitely thinning all over. I had always had fine hair, a high hairline and greasy a scalp, but when I got married in 2006 I suffered hairloss through stress.

I found out about Eucaderm through the Argus and gave them a call. After my consultation David told me that I had a condition called seborrhoea oleosa. This meant that kick start treatments were needed as well as a home washing regime. After 10 weeks of following this advised regime I had short hairs sitting up everywhere and the hairline around my temples started to fill in. I was so excited. This method made perfect sense, put in the work of stimulating and caring for your hair and you will see results.

Three weeks after noticing my 13 year old daughter was suffering from rapid hair loss I contacted Eucaderm. From my first call to the clinic I knew I had made the right decision in contacting them. When I first came to Eucaderm I only had to touch my hair & several strands would fall out. I dreaded having to brush it or wash it and see how much hair I was losing. I went to my doctors on several occasions and they were particularly unhelpful saying that my hair looked fine & there were no bald patches but I knew my hair was falling out & that the amount I was losing was not normal. My hair was thin & lanky by the time I found Eucaderm & I was really worrying, as no woman wants her hair to fall out. Sarah examined my scalp & confirmed that there were many empty hair follicles but that they were still active. I ordered some “Complete Lash” eyelash serum. Delivery was quick & it takes about 4 weeks to see the difference.I use it twice a day....in a morning & before I go to bed. My lashes had more volume & got that long that I had to trim the top of them. Would definitely recommend.
