Derma Roller Treatment

Derma rollers are a small roller with lots of tiny needles on.  You can use them on your face to stimulate collagen, on scar tissue & on your scalp. The length of needle used, depends on the area of the body you are using them. 0.5mm to 1.0mm rollers are used for scalps.

It’s important to start small so you can increase the length slowly, for best results.

How does it work?

By gently rolling across areas of your hair & scalp that are fine, you are producing lots of tiny holes (microchannels). These tell your body that you have a wound. This results in the blood pumping to the area which in turn, feeds the follicle & encourages regrowth.

Applying serum, which will penetrate into the scalp through the microchannels, adds another layer of growth & stimulation.

Derma Roller twice a week.

Your roller will need replacing every 3 months as the needles become dull.

Derma rolling is great for;

    Fine temples
  • list-logo
    Thinning hair
  • list-logo
    Fine patches

What it can’t do is regrow hair that has been void of an area for a very long time.

Hair & scalp MUST be clean before using your roller. If you still have hair in the area you are treating, rolling when wet is easiest to avoid the roller catching hair.

If you have hair, it is best to roll in one direction whereas if the hair is very fine or short, you can to roll back & forth.

The best way to make sure you have covered an area sufficiently is to make a star shape of about 3 inches width & length. Roll 5 times in each direction, then you are ready to move on to the next area.

After you have completed your rolling, adding a serum will boost your growth. We advise our clients to wait 1 hour before applying serum when they first start, as your scalp may be sensitive. As you get used to rolling, apply straight after.

It’s good practice to take before, during & after pictures, so you can monitor the changes & see how well it has worked.
